Well, I guess if I am going to start a blog, I should tell a little bit about myself.  I am 34, and I teach elementary school.  And yes, it is as fun as it sounds.  I enjoy it for the most part, but it can be a stressful job.  I have been married to Justin for 7 years.  We have two fur babies, Roxi and Riki.  We are in the process of adopting.  We have done all the paper work , have been approved and are waiting for our phone call saying a birth family has picked us.  Hopefully that happens sooner rather than later J.  More about that later.

I started my weight loss journey two years ago.  My father passed away, so I decided I needed to get in shape.  But it was harder than it sounds.  I started at a rather large number I am too embarrassed to even put on the internet.  I joined weight watchers and started working out at 24 hour fitness.  I did yoga, old lady swim class and a few other classes.  They were great, but I eventually hit a plateau.

On April 14th of this year, I decided I was going to join crossfit.  Some of my friends had been doing it at their garage at home and had great results.  I knew that if  I didn’t die trying, I would love it.

I emailed 3 “boxes” close to my house.  One box wrote me back, and it just so happened that they were having beginner classes that week.  So I took that as a sign and decided I was going.  I informed my husband to make room in the budget.

It was very much out of my comfort zone to walk into the box that night.  I am the type of person who always wants to do things, but never alone. I always con a friend into doing something with me, Justin calls and orders food, etc.  So here I was, ready to go into this place all alone.

Then Monday came, and I was ready. Not really, I was petrified.  I laced up my tennis shoes and decided to give it a try.  I walked into the box about 7:15.  Earlier is good, right J  It was quite intimidating.  All these people in super shape were blowing through this wod.  Everyone looked like they belonged in a fitness magazine.  Or so I thought.  In my mind I was never going to be able to do what they were doing.  If they hadn’t seen me, I might have just walked right out the door.   However, Courtney, one of the owners, saw me and started talking to me.  I signed my waiver and was ready to go.  To be continued……………
